Great Project

I'm pretty new to asp.net and I seem to have much difficulty installing starter kits as well as any asp.net site. I don't know if its setting up the Web.Config files that I am not doing right or what. I know how to Query an SQL database and set one up, but never seem to get the sites to work. I set application folders and read/write permissions ect, and still I can only run them locally. Why is configuring an asp.net so much more difficult for me than standard asp? Well anyway, This site went up for me and worked the first time, no messing with anything other than permissions and creating the App_Data folder as per instructions. Now ASP.Net has me interested. Great job on this and I hope to see more mods ect... Does anyone have any general Newbie instructions for setting up a standard ASP.net web and maybe a few instructions on setting connection strings in the web.config?
It would be great if you could just compile a site from Visual Studio 2005 straight from the designers area to your web site and have VS configure the connection for you based on your SQL Database server, and user settings.

Well anyway, great job on this starter kit. Very easy to set up for this Newbie. I guess maybe because there is no database to set up.

Hello

for creating an easy "Hello World" project please read the article on:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaa/html/getstart_vcsharp.asp

Otherwise I suppose you should be able to find more instructive articles on MSDN.
To set up a connection string in the web.config please check the following link:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178411.aspx

You will have to define the connection string according to your database configuration. So VS will not be able to setup a connection string on its own.

If you need further assistance, please let us kwnow !
