I'm trying to include a Flash (*.swf) file into content created with the HTMLContent section. I can include the file into the html content, but the movie will not run.

I have actually linked to the file off site and is still does not run. Anyone have any insight on what can be done so I can include *.swf files to my content?

Thanks

Your use of Flash seems to be in the Header. I'm was trying to link/embed the flash in to the HTMLContent that is edited by the built in HTML editor. I have actually removed the HTML editor an replaced it with a different product

I there,

I understand. The code below that I tried work well. It will display.

<embed src="Logo.swf" width="200" height="70" type="text/html; charset=utf-8" scale="ShowAll" loop="loop" menu="menu" wmode="Window" quality="1"></embed>

Put this code in the html editor on the source edition mode. Change the name of the flash as well as the size.

Hope this help.

Regards
Olivier

PS: I use the html editor that comes with the site kit.

If you want to include Flash in aspx pages try the following. (It will pick up the rare individual that doesn't have Flash Player installed as well)

Create an object class and place in <body>

Example

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="550" height="450">
<param name="movie" value="flash/analog_clock.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed src="flash/analog_clock.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="550" height="450"></embed>
</object>

1 - Copy this and paste into insertion point in source code.
2 - Edit the variables.
3 - Thats it!
Hope this helps,
Malex

The last advice it's ok in IE, but it does't work in Firefox.

There is another post asking almost the same - here is my answer from there.

I'm using a FLASH header in the site I am working on at http://CreamSalons.com

Right now my Flash movies are pretty much static but I had to use FLASH because it was easiest for me to put in a random header script. I tried using some javascript but it kept failing. Using the FLASH with action script is almost like its own control and seperates the code. I'm very new at C#, but I'm sure the same can be built into a control in C#.

And there is a TRICK you need to download .DLL file from http://Flash-Controls.net unfortuneatley their web site is not responding @ the moment but will probably be fine by the time you read this.

Follow their directions and you should have no trouble.

Its pretty straight forward.

After dropping your DLL file into your Bin directory

You register it to your page with something like

<%@ Register Assembly="FlashControl" Namespace="Bewise.Web.UI.WebControls" TagPrefix="Bewise" %>

Then you add it to where you want it to display in your page with a line like

<Bewise:FlashControl runat="server" SkinID="intro" Height="70px" MovieUrl="header.swf" Width="200px" />

And your done.

If you want to make the header movie random visit the following

http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/loading_random_movie.htm

Should be all you need good luck.
