New Post: Gallery thumbnail table configuration

I notice in the source code for the gallery thumbnail table cell-spacing is set to "0". I have searched through files to find where I can change this but can't find the cell-spacing="0" anywhere. Can anyone point me towards the file where this is set?

Suddenly the site won't show - maybe the editor of the site has set another page wrongful at start page or anything like that --- I can't login and in the error log I see this:

System.Web.HttpUnhandledException'. ---> System.ArgumentException: '', hexadecimale value 0x0C

what has gone wrong ?

This is a known bug and stated by Bendik Engebretsen in his issue "NewsList::Search() destroys html markup"

I tested his suggested solution which works great for me.
Perhaps an idea to implement this also in the kernel of MWPSK.....

Without seeing what's going on its hard too help. Are you sure this news is in the App_Data folder? Did you backup the old copy you replaced?

I am going to assume that this is to do with the same site you posted about earlier?

In the error you should be able to find the file this came from or even debug using VS and see if you can find the file location but for some reason you have invalid characters or character signatures in your data that are protected for/from CData.

In the files you are probably going to find this as an ASCII character signature and that would be a "form feed" "\\f"

Probably best to try remove it.

All data is in the app_data folder yes!

If you have done this after the site is running then you may have corrupted the uploaded data. you need to make sure the site is offline/stopped first then upload the data then start the application!

The reason behind this is the Data files are cached when the application starts so the files are not being read for every request! only new ones.

You also need to check the Roles and Users files and see if your an administrator!

If you are and you have done as above then chances are the sitemap is corrupt and you will need to add the pages and permissions manually.

can't log in after I've uploaded the app_data folder - ohh - I get logged in but no administration is shown but the folder is on the server

You can debug the site remotely through Visual Studio but this is best done from the sites local machine.

From the file menu you can select Open Web Site then select from Local IIS, from memory I think you need to start VS with admin privileges.

You could even open the site from the local web server in a browser and that may yield more detail!

To see what has been done to the files would be tricky unless you have a backup to compare with. You have no idea at this point what the problem is so where do you start looking?

Since the server is not displaying an error at all then the Web.config is probably not being loaded either.

There could be many reasons for this but your best guess to any answer is as above, Debug via Visual Studio on the remote server!

My guess is the server has had an upgrade to the .net runtime and the site wont boot. In this case the problem may not even be with the sites files. but with the server itself.

I have a user that uses the MSWPSK - it have been running flawless - but now it gives an error no matter what... I don't know what he has done.

No error are shown just the standard:

And I have turned on; "the custom errors off" - but still - what the error is - are not shown - how can I proceed to "restore" the site?

Can I see what he has done by looking in the files?

I've been battling for a while how to localize the menu for my site with different languages

The solution turned out to be rather simple in the end I changed the site map line to this

<siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" enableLocalization="true">

and then in the title tag of the site map I replace the title like so

<siteMapNode title="$resources:stringsRes,adm_Navigation_Homepage"

Only issue is if you use the site navigation menu to make changes it will over ride this info.

Also I put in the title description the localization name adm_Navigation_Homepage

And then in the default.aspx.cs I changed line 112 to this
Title = (string)GetGlobalResourceObject("StringsRes", _page.Title);

Hi,

I am fairly new to all of this, having only started last night. I have my domain name, host website, downloaded filezilla, and downloaded MWPSK.

In MWPSK almost everything works at the moment, but the only problem is that a Runtime Error seems to appear when I attempt to write HTML content on my pages. I have copied/pasted the error message at the bottom here for you all to see, and hopefully someone will have an idea of how to remedy this problem. I would be most grateful for any help that I can receive.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
